

What's Happening?
Rail Trail Fest is a fun ride followed by challenging events and cool
contests in Lamy. Entry is $20 for those taking the Santa Fe Southern
Railway train back to Santa Fe and $10 without the train ride ($25/$15
day of the event). There are a few seats left! All proceeds go the
restoration of the historic Our Lady of Light community building in
Lamy.
Start:
Rider check-in is from 8-9AM at the Santa Fe National Forest/BLM parking lot
located at 1474 Rodeo Road in Santa Fe. Riders choosing to take the
train from Lamy back to Santa Fe will receive a train ticket in their
ride kit at check-in.
The Trail:
The ride is approximately 15 miles of gently rolling dirt trail
paralleling the Santa Fe spur rail line. Be prepared to encounter
rocks, roots and sandy arroyos along the way. BTI and Santa Fe Mountain Sports
will have an aid station at the mid-point with fluids and snacks. The last mile or
so into Lamy is on pavement. Total elevation drop going out to Lamy is
532 feet. Alchemy Cycle Works and Ace Mountain Bikes will follow the ride, offering repairs.
In Lamy:
Events
will be held from 10:00AM-12:30PM. The Lamy Railroad and History Museum
will be open in the old Legal Tender Saloon and Santa Fe Brewing
Company will host a cash beer garden in the park next to the train
station. Food will be served available from Lamy Station Cafe. Don't
forget, the train leaves at 1PM (there is room for bikes and drinks
will be available on the train). Mellow Velo will have their shuttle
van in Lamy to take riders/bikes back to the parking lot in Santa Fe
after 1PM (gas money/tips welcome).
Bring a helmet and gloves, a large water bottle or waterpack, snacks, spare tubes (Slime tubes are recommended) & patch kit, pump, tire levers, basic tools, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat.
